International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day (IWD), commemorated on March 8, is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women as well as a call to spur action towards accelerating gender parity in society.

In our usual fashion we ensured all Humans of Oando, regardless of gender played a role in celebrating the day and our women.  We got the Oando men to strike the ‘Balance for Better’ pose, took pictures of them, posted on our social media platforms and asked that they do the same to amplify the message and act as a call to action for others to help forge a balance for better.  For the women in house we celebrated them via a video featuring pictures of every single female employee against the background of the Alicia Keys song ‘Superwoman’.

We concluded with a social media campaign that featured video messages and a compilation of quotes from a cross section of successful and inspirational Nigerian women across different sectors.  In line with the 2019 theme, “Balance for Better”, we had the likes of Oando Board member escort eskişehir Chief Sena Anthony, Genevieve Nnaji, Didi Akinyelure, Omon Anenih Mordi, amongst others, speak on how their sectors have become more balanced over the years and encouraged all women to push for greatness.
