SON Awards Oando Gas & Power ISO 9001: 2000 Certification

With this certification, Oando Gas & Power, one of the 15 short-listed companies for the development the Nigerian Gas Master Plan, has demonstrated its commitment to world class operational standards and processes.

ISO 9001:2000 is a quality management system that demonstrates through documentation, that a company is quality conscious and is able to meet the quality needs of its customers. The underlining features are management responsibility, resource management, product realization, monitoring, analysis and continuous improvement.

The award of the ISO 9001:2000 certification to Oando Gas and Power was preceded by a series of rigorous and extensive audit of the company’s �Above Ground Installations’ (AGI), pipelines installations and operational procedures by Inspectors from the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON).

Commenting on the certification Dr. Chris Onuoha, Chief EHSSQ Officer (Environment Health, Safety, Security and Quality) Oando PLC, states; “The Oando group has a very robust pre-designed Safety and Quality assurance policy inherent in the way we do business, which is consistent with the service quality expectations of ISO. This was recognised in 2006 with the certification of Oando PLC”.

Commenting further Dr. Onuoha adds; With Oando Gas & Power following suit with this certification, we have demonstrated our consistency in improving standards and service quality”.

Also commenting Chief Executive of Oando Gas & Power, Mr. Bolaji Osunsanya stated that “This ISO endorsement demonstrates our consistent adherence to world-class standard in all facets of our operations. Once again, our customers and other stakeholders are now even more reassured about the quality of our services and operations”.
