Anthony Sawyerr is the GM Operations with overall responsibility for Production Operations, Well Engineering & Operations, and Facilities & Projects. He is also the Oando Technical Lead for the NAOC (Agip)/Oando JV in which Oando holds a 20% non-operated stake.
A seasoned 24-year’s professional, Tony has performed engineering, operations, supervisory and management roles in drilling/completion (Land, Swamp, Offshore and Deep water), field development, drilling project management, production, planning, and crude oil processing.
Prior to joining Oando in 2007 he spent 14 years with ExxonMobil and was at various times Senior Drilling Engineer, Supervisor-Crude Oil Treating and Process, Staff Drilling Engineer, Drilling Supervisor (Offshore) and Drilling Superintendent (Offshore and Contracting) for ExxonMobil’s Drilling and Production Groups located onshore and offshore.
He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Nigerian Society of Engineers, the American Association of Drilling Engineers, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
