Gaslink Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of Oando Gas & Power has won the Gas Corporate Award (Downstream) for 2007 as the Best Gas Company operating in the Downstream Energy Sector, as well as the West Africa Quality Natural Gas Marketing Company of the Year 2007 Award. The awards were given by NED Conferences, publishers of Nigeria Energy Digest and the Quality Management Development Institute

Gaslink, as recipient of the Gas Corporate Award, Downstream, was recognised as the leading indigenous company established to promote gas distribution and utilization in Nigeria.

The Natural Gas Marketing Company Award was awarded to Gaslink based on the following parameters:
Gaslink is the pioneer and one of the few companies in Nigeria involved in the piping and distribution of natural gas to industrial, residential and commercial consumers and is operating a 20-year Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with the Nigeria Gas Company (NGC)
Motivated by the vision to be the “Leading Energy Company in its Chosen Markets”, Gaslink bundles various capabilities, acquired from years of experience in delivering natural gas, and avails them to a broad spectrum of end users. This way, it offers a complete energy solution to its customers with a commercially attractive bottom-line.
Presently, Gaslink has constructed a pipeline network from the Nigerian Gas Company (NGC) City Gate to cover Ikeja and the Greater Lagos Area. It immediately commenced the supply of Natural Gas through its 99.4km pipeline in Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria. At present, our distribution network has the combined capacity to deliver 70 million standard cubic metres of natural gas per month. The Pipeline network for Gaslink is as follows:

Ikeja Phase 1A – 10km distribution pipeline network commissioned in March 2001
Ikeja Phase 1B – 4.2 km distribution pipeline network commissioned in October 2002
Greater Lagos II – 84km distribution pipeline network commissioned in May 2004
Greater Lagos III – 38km distribution pipeline network (construction commenced April 2007.
In the near future, Gaslink plans to extend its business beyond Lagos State to other parts of Nigeria and indeed, West Africa. Preliminary work has already reached various stages in exploring gas opportunities in Onne and Abuja. Gaslink is also positioning itself as the preferred Local Distribution Company (LDC) for the West African Gas Pipeline (WAGP), which is currently under construction, which will transport natural gas from Nigeria to Ghana, Togo and Benin.

Its affiliate company, East Horizon Gas Company (EHGC) has already won the rights to Build and Operate a gas pipeline from Akwa Ibom to the United Cement Company (UNICEM) in Calabar to supply gas to power the factory which is currently under construction, also  in the news “Wale Tinubu, Ibe Kachikwu, others represent Nigeria at Africa Oil Week“.
