Oando Energy Resources to Participate as Energy Solutions Provider Sponsor at the 2020 Virtual Africa Oil Week

Oando Energy Resources, the upstream subsidiary of Oando PLC, will be participating at the first ever virtual Africa Oil Week (AOW) conference as ‘Energy Solutions Provider’ sponsor, maintaining her position as headline sponsor of the event over the last 10 years. The company is using AOW as a platform for critical oil and gas discourse post the COVID-19 pandemic as well as to project Nigeria’s vast gas potential and new opportunities within the sector for investors.

The conference scheduled to hold on October 7 – 8, 2020, themed ‘Reigniting the African Upstream’ will have regional and international stakeholders, private investors and key Government officials  across Africa address the future of the continent’s oil and gas sector in light of the pandemic, as well as discuss opportunities t still abound in the industry, whilst showcasing exemplary indigenous capacity.

By popular demand, AOW Virtual will spotlight Sub-Saharan Africa’s oil and gas operators via an “Operators’ Strategic Outlook” session, where near-term strategic outlooks will be discussed by senior leaders from Tullow Oil, Kosmos Energy and Wood Mackenzie. The event will feature an interactive “Energy Debate: Natural Gas vs Renewables” where industry leaders from Nigeria LNG, British Petroleum and the Special Economic Advisor to the President of Mozambique amongst others, will go head to head and share their views on the energy transition, both in Africa and globally; as well as the investment, infrastructure, technology and Environmental, Social, and Governance criteria (ESG) required.

Key speakers at these sessions include Dr. Ainojie ‘Alex’ Irune, Chief Operating Officer, Oando Energy Resources, a panelist at the session, ‘’West Africa Regional: New Ventures & Opportunities’’; Hon. Fafa Sanyang, Minister of Petroleum & Energy, Republic of The Gambia; Christine Roche, Manager, New Ventures AMME, PGS; Jerreh Barrow, Commissioner for Petroleum, Ministry for Petroleum & Energy, Republic of The Gambia amongst others.

For the first time in its history, AOW will be a free to attend virtual conference aimed at reigniting interest in African oil and gas. True to the event’s roots, the conference will be packed full of strategic outlooks, debates, and discussions on the much-anticipated Government bidding rounds across the continent.
