Executive Director and Group Chief Corporate Services & Operations Officer
Engr. Muntari Zubairu is an Executive Director and the Group Chief Corporate Services & Operations Officer of Oando PLC.
With over 30 years’ experience in the Financial Services and Oil & Gas industries, his professional achievements are represented across a myriad of industries including Procurement and Strategic Sourcing, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Information Technology, and Banking Operations, International Banking, Treasury Operations, Retail, Corporate and Commercial Banking.
Prior to joining Oando, Engr. Zubairu was Deputy General Manager and Group Head Commercial Banking North, at Access Bank Plc. A role he used vast knowledge, experience and network to drive the key aspects for strategic growth in Northern Nigeria.
Before Access Bank, Engr. Zubairu worked in various executive roles in the Financial sector for over 25 years. Some of his roles comprise Group Head Retail Banking and Public Sector at First Bank, Group Head Commercial Banking and Divisional Head Public Sector at Diamond Bank and at FSB International Bank and Citibank Nigeria.
Engr. Zubairu holds two Masters of Science degrees in Project Management from the University of Salford and Business Psychology from the University of South Wales. He also has a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Abuja and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Engr) degree in Electrical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria.
Engr. Zubairu is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He has attended several Executive Management Programmes in the leading institutions including Harvard Business School, Insead Business School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Lagos Business School, amongst others.
