Oando Supply and Trading is the foremost indigenous physical trader of petroleum products in Nigeria. The company trades large volume cargos to the Products and Pipelines Marketing Company (PPMC), the Major Oil Marketers in the country and other small volume oil-marketing retailers referred to as Independent Marketers. As one of the companies used by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to supply products to the Nigerian market, Oando Supply & Trading occupies a leadership position in most petroleum products lines.

For the past 8 years, Oando Supply and Trading has been trading internationally in the supply of gasoline. Sourcing gasoline, from Europe, Spain, The Mediterranean, The Baltics, South America, and West Africa to supply to Nigeria, Ghana and other countries along the West African coast. Gasoline represents the number one product line for the company.
Given the sensitivity of gasoline to most African economies like Nigeria, Oando Supply & Trading has positioned itself as the vital partner and primary indigenous suppliers of gasoline to the NNPC and the major marketers.
Oando Supply and Trading operates a crude oil contract signed with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Under this contact, cargoes are lifted in one million barrel lots from NNPC Joint Venture terminals and are traded internationally, i.e. to the United States, Europe and the Far-East. The company moves an average of 9 million barrels of crude oil under this arrangement annually.
Oando Trading is the largest importer of bitumen in Nigeria. Sourcing the product from South America, South Africa and The Mediterranean, the company delivers to Apapa in Nigeria and Spain.
Products Information
Diesel or Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) forms an important part of the company’s trade. At least 60,000 MT of AGO is imported monthly for Major Marketers, Independent Marketers, and for some offshore companies. Oando Trading is a major supplier of AGO to the Independent Marketers and to the NNPC while the corporation was involved in the importation of AGO to Nigerian markets.
The importation of Base Oils is an emerging but important part of the company’s business. Oando Trading on a monthly basis imports a substantial quantity of Base Oil.
Oando Supply and Trading also deals in the exportation of Naphtha out of the Nigerian Refineries, subject to availability.
Oando Supply and Trading completely dominates the trading of this product in Nigeria. Whilst it is the only company that directly imports Fuel Oils into Nigeria, it is interestingly also the only indigenous company that directly exports the product. By fixing ship and delivering the products to end users, the company has positioned itself as an important ally to offshore offtakers of the product. Trading in this product represents a substantial part of the company’s export business and the Fuel Oils Team of the company has over time excelled in bridging the demand and supply gaps of the product in Nigeria.
Oando Supply and Trading is a major importer of Jet A1/DPK. The products are currently brought in as full cargoes from the Mediterranean (Libya and Egypt) and the Arabian Gulf. The company presently imports a cargo of the product per month.
Oando Supply and Trading provides tanker-chartering services (including time-charter and spot charter) to a range of major international and national oil trading companies. Its primary operation routes are within the West African sub region and Nigerian Coastal waters, but it also does International routing to the Mediterranean, mostly running 17,000 DWT vessels. The company also runs time-charter ships in and out of the Baltic.
