Oyet Gogomary

Dr. Oyet is the Head Environment, Health, Safety and Quality for the company. He was moved from the Group EHSQ (Shared Services) to head EHSQ in Oando Marketing Limited. In this new assignment, Oyet will also share out to other Oando group his operational experience.

Prior to this, Oyet was the Group (Shared Services) Head of Environment, Health Safety and Quality January 2008 to August 2008. As a Senior EHSQ Manager from February 2007 to January 2008, Dr.Oyet introduced EHSQ Strategic business plan, purposed upon consistent monitoring and implementation of action plan. This resulted in an improved incident reporting and management amongst the workforce.

As HEHSQ, Dr. Oyet had provided guidance and strategy for all issues relating to Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Control and Assurance. He manages relationship between the company and regulators in the industry.

Dr. Oyet has developed numerous strategies and plans for the entrenchment of EHSQ in Oando Group via awareness trainings, EHSQ Week, Celebration of World AIDS day, Management facility Inspections, and various systems documentation/templates. Under his leadership Oando won the Ako-Eko Green Environment Award by the Lagos State Government and the Green Ribbon Award by Industrial Pollution Abatement Committee, Kaduna.

Oyet joined Oando PLC in February 2007 from Shell Development Company (SPDC), while in SPDC, he had worked as a trainer, HSE Coordinator as well as Senior QC/A Advisor, where he was responsible for the implementation of Environmental Management System (EMS-ISO 14001), Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001) and Quality Management System (QMS 9001) in Western Swamp (PEB). He is a certified Lead Auditor in the above management Systems.

Oyet holds a Doctorate Degree in Environmental Management from the Institute of Geosciences and Space Technology, Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port-Harcourt. He is an alumnus of Henley’s Management College, UK. Dr.Oyet is a member of various professional bodies amongst which are International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) UK, Nigeria Environmental Society (NES) and Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals (NISP).
