To be the preferred value-adding integrated oil field services provider to the sub-saharan upstream oil sector.
The supplier of choice for products and services in the upstream oil and gas industry.
Oando Energy Services Limited (OESL) is a leading provider of energy services to exploration and production companies in Nigeria. By focusing on innovative technology, world class safety practices and personnel competence, OESL offers its clients high quality support for its operations that translates to increased efficiency and lower operating costs. OESL’s service offerings are structured along three major lines namely:
- Drilling and Completion Fluids Management Services
- Drill Bits and Engineering Services
- Drilling Rigs
Since 2004, the company has successfully positioned itself as a preferred indigenous service provider by entering into alliances with leading international service companies. These alliances enabled OESL deliver oilfield services to world class programs such as Mobil Producing’s Erha and Chevron’s Agbami Field development projects. By working successfully alongside some of the recognized international service providers, OESL has become a respected name in the industry and as such is now delivering many of its services on a standalone basis. Nevertheless, the company has maintained strong alliances with partners that continue to offer the Nigerian market access to innovative technology. One of such alliances includes the relationship with Halliburton’s Drill Bit’s for which OESL is the sole distributor in Nigeria. In line with the directives of the 2010 Nigeria Oil & Gas Industry Content Development Act “NOGICD Act”, OESL has also built long lasting relationships with reputable local suppliers and vendors who place emphasis on service quality and delivery. Since the inception of the Act, we have recorded 85% increase in our local spend on the procurement of equipment, materials, services and other consumables.
Our alliances have enabled OESL execute numerous drilling fluids and drill bits contracts for oil companies operating in country such as Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC), Nigeria Agip Exploration (NAE), Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production (SNEPCo), Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPNU) Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited, ADDAX Petroleum Exploration (Nigeria) Limited, Energia Limited, Network Exploration and Production Limited and Seplat Petroleum Development Company Limited .
Since its inception, OESL has invested over US$300 million in the acquisition refurbishment and upgrade of swamp rigs. In 2007 OESL commenced its drilling rigs business by acquiring two swamp rigs namely; OES Teamwork and OES Respect. Since then, the company has acquired an additional 3 swamp rigs and drilling equipment to be utilized in the Niger Delta swamps. These 5 rigs which are wholly owned by Oando Energy Services Limited have been converted to home use (import duty paid) and are at various stages of being deployed to work for major oil companies operating in country. The first two rigs were contracted to Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) in 2009 in a deal worth approximately US$225million while a third rig named OES Passion commenced a 2-year contract (with the possibility of a one year extension) potentially worth US$105million with The Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited (SPDC) in May 2012. The strategic decision to decommission one of the five (5) assets in the fleet (OES Professionalism) has reduced OESL’s rig count to 4, nevertheless; the company remains the largest swamp drilling contractor in country.
Today, OESL is poised to expand its range of services to meet the needs of its clients with the introduction of carefully selected service lines that complement its existing service offerings. This strategy guided the company’s foray into the production chemicals business in 2010 via an alliance with world renowned Champion Technologies. To support the company’s rapid growth, OESL has commenced the development of a 26,000sqm operational base within the Trans-Amadi area, a prime district in the oil-city of Port-Harcourt. This base which will be fitted with world class information technology solutions will serve as the central point for coordinating the company’s logistic and procurement activities.
