Branch Structure

Oando Marketing Re-structures Sales Network - Moves operations closer to customers

In its relentless effort at exceeding customer expectations, Oando Marketing will effective July 1, 2006 re-organise its sales structure to communicate directly with head office in order to improve information flow and enhance sensitivity to customer needs.

The new “Branch” structure is a system where defined sales areas (“branches”) will report directly to a central coordination point the head office. This is in contract to the “divisional” structure where sales areas reported to regional headquarters (divisions) en route to the head office.

Under the new branch structure, the five divisions will be re-structured to 19 branches well spread to cover the entire nation effectively. The operations of each Branch will be managed by a Branch Manager, supported by depot staff and a Pump Mechanic.

The key feature of the new branch structure is a reduction in the number of operational layers in the hierarchy of the field structure thereby creating more efficient and transparent operations. This will in turn allow our smart and proactive sales teams to devote more time to servicing customers.

According to the Chief Operating Officer of Oando, Mr Ayo Ajose-Adeogun, “The branch structure is our usual dynamic and progressive way of adapting to changes in our operating environment. Our decision to implement the Branch Structure is in line with the need to better service our customers whilst reducing operational costs and improving on administrative processes to impact positively on revenue generation and profitability improvement”

Oando’s dealers and customers stand to benefit from this restructuring as it will improve ordering and payment process and eliminate any bottlenecks in approval processes. The company has deployed state of the art technology to communicate with government depots, customers and banks to create a seamless order to cash process. Extensive checks and pilot runs have been carried out to ensure an error-free transition for all its stakeholders.

Commenting further, Mr. Ajose-Adeogun says, “Improved flexibility and market responsiveness, enhanced information flow and faster decision making will deliver a sustained boost to revenues. Savings on reduced field overhead will deliver a sustained reduction in costs. Cash inflow from selected disposals of assets will deliver immediate impact – what you have here is a robust package of short and long term boosts to shareholder value.
