Oando Lube Plant Wins Again!
Oando’s Lube Plant 2, Kachia, Kaduna has won the Manufacturing Association of Nigeria (M.A.N) “Year 2004 Cleanest Factory Award” in the “Wet Processing Category”; for companies whose end products are in liquid form. The award was presented by the Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Ahmed Makarfi, at the 12th M.A.N North West Zone AGM held on Thursday 9th September 2004 at Arewa House, Kaduna.
The award was given in recognition of the excellent housekeeping and safety practices at the plant and had been previously won by the Oando Lube Plant 1, Rido Village, also in Kaduna in 2003, thereby making it the second time that an Oando Lube plant will be winning the Award in two consecutive years.
The award was instituted by MAN to identify and applaud factories with the best verifable Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) practices within each zone. The North West zone where Oando’s factory is situated comprises of factories located in Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Niger, Zamfara States and the Federal Capital Territory.
The Lube Plant Manager, Mr. K. C. Nwakanma comments on the award, “We are highly elated by this award as it shows the extra effort we put into ensuring sound Environment, Health and Safety practices. For us at the Lube Plant, it is a reflection of our commitment to Oando’s brand essence of Service Excellence; we have internalized the culture of excellent housekeeping and safety practices.
The ultra modern Lube Plant is equipped with facilities for batch blending of lubricants. It has 30,000 ton per annum (TPA) lube oil batch production capacity on single shift of 8 hours and 1,000 ton per annum Grease manufacturing capacity.
