Oando Emerges Best Marketer in the Aviation Sector

Oando has scored another first by being the initial marketer to win the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria's, (FAAN) award of Best Marketer of the Year 2004.

The award was given to Oando in recognition of its superior aviation fuel marketing and excellent customer services. The award was presented by Engr. Mohammed Gambo Umar MNI, Managing Director of FAAN, at an award Gala night at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Lagos on the 28th of January, 2005. With this award, Oando is adjudged by FAAN to the best Jet A1 fuel marketing company in Nigeria.

According to the Aviation Manager, Mr. Livinus Arungwa, “ We have always operated our aviation business in strict conformity to international best practices. As a dynamic company, we constantly seek ways to improve our services; and our customers are immensely benefiting from our superior operational efficiency, effectiveness and safety.”

The Chief Marketing Officer, Commercial of Oando, Mr. Ayo Ajose-Adeogun comments, “We are not surprised that our effort at continuously providing excellent services to our customers is being recognised. Improving and expanding our aviation services is paramount in our overall marketing strategy for this year, the best is yet to come for our aviation business and customers.”

The award was instituted by FAAN to identify and applaud marketing companies with the best verifiable operational and technical marketing practices within the aviation industry. The parameters for assessment include quality, safety, customer satisfaction, supply and distribution. This is the first time FAAN is including aviation fuel marketing category in its prestigious performance awards.

It would be recalled that Oando recently commenced expanding the national coverage of its Aviation business. The company is currently building a world-class aviation terminal in Abuja and plans are underway to extend to Port Harcourt. In addition, the Lagos operation was recently enhanced by the acquisition of a brand new articulated 75,000 litre capacity, high precision bowser.
