Kamar Bakrin is a Business Strategist and Operations Specialist with an MBA in Finance and Strategy from the Columbia Business School, New York, USA. He holds a B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He is also an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA). At Ocean and Oil Holdings, Kamar’s responsibilities spanned group strategy, investments and strengthening the group’s portfolio companies’ capabilities. Whilst there, he led varied projects/ transactions for the group and affiliated companies including business start-up, debt and equity raising, viability assessment and sale and purchase. He also led the post merger integration of Unipetrol Nig. Plc. and Agip Nig. Plc. following the group’s acquisition of the two publicly quoted companies. This transaction was the biggest merger in the Nigerian history. Before his appointment as the Chief Operating Officer of Oando, he was the Deputy Managing Director, UTC Nigeria. According to the Managing Director of the Oando, Mr. Wale Tinubu, “we have set a definite expansion strategy for ourselves at Oando, and are identifying very talented individuals to steer the organization to its bright future.
